From the donkey stable of Madiran to the raw beef of Argentinian Malbec - wild animal smells and tastes in wine aren't for everybody. Here are some wines we tasted that you might also enjoy, if at any time you should feel the call of the wild.
Ink-coloured, almost black, smelling of plum jam, eucalyptus and donkey stable and puckering your mouth all over with overwhelmingly rough tannins, here we have a text book Tannat (note the linguistic closeness to "tannin" as well as to "tanning").

K & U have been having quite a winning streak in my cellar for the last couple of months, so I had high hopes for this argentinian malbec, a variety I felt pressured into trying by all the buzz about it - on this blog and elsewhere.
